How to Switch Monitor Input Source using Keyboard

Using a single monitor connected to different computers? I am sure you would be tired of manually switching the inputs using monitor buttons.

Good news! I have found a utility that makes this task easier!

It is called ControlMyMonitor, and it is FREE.

Here’s how to use it:

  1. Download ControlMyMonitor.
  2. After installation, open it.
  3. Look for the Input Select control which has VCP Code 60. See the screenshot below:
Input Select Values in ControlMyMonitor
  1. On the right-most column, you will see different sets of numbers. These are actually the possible values that you can select for the Input Select setting.

Now if the possible values for Input Setting for your monitor are 13,14,15,16 and 20, it means there is one value that will change the input source of your monitor.

  1. To find that value, you will need to test and verify by changing the maximum value to possible values one by one.

For example, first, change the maximum value to 13, and then 14. Do this for each value until your monitor input source is changed. You can change the value by double-clicking the item.

After some hit & trial, you will be able to find which value you need to change your monitor input.
